The most sacred moments of my life have been spent in dressing rooms, quiet, alone, full of anticipation, sometimes nausea, sometimes full of self doubt. Here you face the inevitable: yourself. It is hard to describe to people the magic that happens in those moments before performance, in those moments of ritual so specific to each individual performer. These moments are my inspiration.
I have very few rules or superstitions surrounding performing, but one I have that is pretty strict, is no love making on performance days.
I save the intimacy for the audience.

My pre- and post- show rituals involve staying out of the way. This can be very difficult because even though my body is not on stage during performances, a deeply personal part of me is out there under the lights. Come performance time, I tend to sit in the back and live through every minute moment of the story with the actors and audience. Sometimes I don't breathe until the act breaks."
